Joy has been inspirational to me over the past few months. I originally approached Joy to assist in my physical fitness, but her engagement style and proactive approach shifted me to view her now as my personal development coach. I was overweight, tired, grumpy and had failing confidence when I first met with Joy, I knew I needed to do something but it all seemed too much. Joy took me through an initial assessment, starting at first work, sleep, diet, exercise and then after building trust onto my emotional state. She was easy to talk to and listened to what I said, not what she heard! We talked about goals and aspirations for all these areas.I met with Joy every week for 2 months, we reviewed progress against goals regularly, whether my diet or sleep diary or my own exercise plan and then she would put me through my paces in the gym. Between sessions Joy would call to see how I was doing and give great encouragement to achieve my goals. Joy was a tremendous support to me, researching nutrition options, providing help and advice on supplements and fun activities to keep my exercise varied. After 8 weeks, the results were amazing!! I had dropped from a body fat% of 24.5 to 18.3, my metabolic age had dropped from 36 (I’m 37) to an amazing 28 and I had lost 8lbs of fat all together!!

I went to see Joy at a point when I was in a very difficult place. I had made some significant life changes, but it just felt as if how ever much I tried to move forward it always felt like I was ‘stuck.’ What immediately struck me about Joy was her enormous warmth and enthusiasm. By the end of our first session we had already identified the areas I needed to work on and four months later I feel like a different person. Without ever seeming bossy or pushy she really got me to focus on where I wanted to be and together we mapped out a really ambitious but achievable action plan. She even managed to get me over my reluctance to write things down and the process of writing actually made things seem more achievable. When I first met Joy, my business was going through a sustained period of heavy workload, and I found myself regularly becoming stressed by the demands of the business. This was coupled with moving house, and led to some visible and problematic physical and mental health issues, which were affecting me personally and were having a detrimental effect on the success of the business.
Joy taught me how to deal with, and respond to these stresses in a controllable way. As a perfectionist and someone who takes things very personally, when these traits are challenged, I find small things can affect me, knock my confidence and get me down. With my physical wellbeing supported and my improved mental mindset I have felt much happier, more in control and less stressed in my personal life.
